This delicate Virgin Mary was created by Veronica Velasco Vasquez of the award-winning Vasquez family of Oaxacan ceramic artists. She is the daughter of Enedina Vasquez and the niece of the famous Angelica Vasquez Cruz. This clay medallion is too fragile to hang on its own, so I designed and created a home for it in a Mexican tin nicho, which I finished in antique gold. So this is a collaborative piece of art! NIcho can stand freely or hang on the wall. The “box” part of the nicho is 5 1/2’W X 7” Tall x 2 1/4” deep. Height of the entire piece is 11 3/4’.
